Notes

11 records

This is a rare and poorly known species. Since being described by Deevey from off Bermuda there have been only a handful of single specimens tentatively identified from the N.E.Atlantic from the equator to 50°N from depths of 500-2000m. There is also a record from 37°S in the SW Pacific that was published posthumously (Deevey, 1983). The size data for these various specimens are erratic and suggest that the identifications are not particularly trustworthy.
