Florida panthers, an endangered subpopulation of puma, used to live throughout the southeastern United States but hunting and habitat loss have since restricted them to southern Florida.

Today there are around 230 panthers left in the state and their main threats are habitat loss from urban sprawl, and being killed on roads. Carlton is a Florida native and wildlife campaigner. He has spent years documenting efforts to recover the population of this panther. Many people are working to protect their habitats from development and campaigning for investment in conservation measures.
