Pygmy owl comes home

Kai Fagerström's Image

This pygmy owl was more than a passing visitor.

It seemed to know the house well and may even have lived there at one time. It would certainly have known that there were mice to catch in the house. 'It wasn't too shy, so photographing it was quite easy,' says Kai, though the lighting was difficult against the snow outside. But the owl wasn't happy that Kai was in the house. 'It seemed to stamp its foot and say, "Go away, this is my place..." So I went.'
