If you'd like to take part in the GenePools project, please fill out the form below. We'll then send you all sampling kit, instructions and a pre-paid return envelope.

Please note:

  • For this phase, only people in Bristol, London, Newcastle, City of Manchester, Plymouth and Cambridge, and some surrounding postcode areas, can take part. Please see the questions below to check that your location is part of the study area.
  • You must be able to post your sample to us by 15 July 2024.
  • After sampling, please complete the post-sample survey (a link will appear here later), otherwise your sample will not be processed.

2. If you have more than one pond to sample, you will need one kit per pond. Please select the number of ponds you will sample. The maximum number of kits you can request is five. If you need any more, please email communityscience@nhm.ac.uk with 'GenePools' in your subject line.

Your personal data
The personal data we collect from you will be held by Natural History Museum for the duration of the project only - until no later than 31 March 2025. The personal data we collect is only used to contact you about this project, either by Natural England, the Natural History Museum and CEFAS.
