Summary
It is estimated that the NHM reptile collection holds approximately 8,500 type specimens of which 50% of the currently recognised snake species are represented and is the largest in the world. I curate and facilitate research on this group spread across different sites with the avid intent of enhancing, improving and maintaining the collection. I also see as intrinsically important facilitating the increase in the overall scientific knowledge associated with specimens under my care, through hosting scientific visitors, answering enquiries, responding to identification requests, sending loans and being involved in several collaborative projects.
