Isles of Scilly: collecting specimens, measuring change

The Isles of Scilly, located 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall, are a UK biodiversity 'hotspot'. The distribution ranges of many plants and animals intersect at the islands.

Museum scientists are leading a series of field trips to gather fresh, good-quality specimens for our collections.

These specimens will help us understand the diversity of life and support research into the effects of environmental change.
