Dinosaur world tour

Many of the famous dinosaurs of popular culture may be from North America, but fossils of these prehistoric animals have been found on every continent.

In this 30-minute video, Prof Paul Barrett discusses dinosaur discoveries from around the world.

Join him as he shows us some of the fascinating dinosaur fossils kept behind the scenes in the Museum's collection, including a fossil skull of Proceratosaurus. This dinosaur is the earliest known member of the group that gave rise to Tyrannosaurus rex and the Museum specimen is the only known example.

Baryonyx, Megalosaurus, EdmontosaurusGiraffatitan and Stegosaurus are some of the other major species mentioned in the show, which was broadcast live on 22 June 2017.
