  • Our partnership

We’re proud to be partnering with Accenture, who are supporting our Urban Nature Project.

The project is an ambitious programme that will give people across the UK, no matter who they are or where they live, the motivation and tools to safeguard nature in their towns and cities, so that people and planet can thrive.

Accenture’s funding will supplement our partnership with the Garfield Weston Foundation to support the project’s national programme of activity. The project is designed to create the next generation of nature champions and scientists by engaging with pupils, teachers and the public and encouraging them to connect with the nature on their doorsteps.

  • Accenture: Prioritising learning about sustainability

Accenture embeds sustainability into everything they do and with everyone they serve, creating business value and sustainable impact, enabled by technology and human ingenuity. They cultivate a sustainability mindset throughout the company by prioritising learning about sustainability, for their people and across the communities in which they live and work.

Through their global Skills to Succeed Initiative, Accenture collaborates with charity and civil society partners to enable sustainability education and action. The flagship programme upskills communities to support employment outcomes that help people thrive. Accenture’s support of our Urban Nature Project will work hand in hand with their Skills to Succeed initiative, helping nurture the next generation of nature champions and scientists.

Collaboration is at the heart of how Accenture delivers lasting impact, and their partnership with us is testament to how the organisation is helping to drive positive social change.

  • The Urban Nature Project

The Urban Nature Project is a major, UK-wide partnership programme that will build our understanding of urban biodiversity, connect the nation with the nature in towns and cities and produce practical tools for supporting wildlife.

Our five-acre outdoor space is being transformed into an exemplar of urban wildlife research, conservation and awareness with the aim of sharing learnings and rolling out similar transformations with partners across the UK. New outdoor galleries will showcase our scientific research and provide a space for the public to enjoy and explore urban nature.

With its coalition of museums and wildlife organisations, the Urban Nature Project will start an urban nature movement. A UK-wide learning programme for young people, families and schools will inspire more than 100,000 people to protect the nature on their doorsteps. In addition to this, new scientific tools and skills that are urgently needed to monitor, understand and protect urban nature will be developed and shared with our partners.
