Come face to face with hundreds of live butterflies from all around the world and engage with a broad range of learning themes, from senses and adaptation to life cycles and habitats.

Explore the evolutionary tree of life through augmented reality. Join your Key Stage 4 and
A-Level students on an award-winning virtual journey, where you’ll see a dinosaur and an early human brought to life before your eyes, with the help of some cutting-edge technology.

Understanding extinction

Extinction: Not the End of the World? is an opportunity to challenge your students to consider thought-provoking questions. This specimen-rich exhibition is suitable for students at Key Stage 2 and above, with printable resources to engage and support Key Stage 4 and A-Level students available online.

We offer an exciting range of fun, free events during weekends and holidays. Look out for our new drop-in activity in the Marine Invertebrates gallery, where children and their families can find out about life in the ocean, handle specimens, don starfish costumes and participate in rock star challenges. Activities run from 14.00 to 17.00 every Saturday.

These provide a stimulating and inspiring way for students of all key stages to investigate Museum galleries while supporting learning relevant to the National Curriculum.
