Alpicidaris Lambert, in Lambert & Thiery, 1910, p. 150

Diagnostic Features
  • Test height ca. 70% diameter; relatively thick-shelled.
  • Apical disc size and plating unknown.
  • Interambulacra with 8-10 plates in a series. Primary tubercles perforate and noncrenulate; areoles ovate at ambitus and adorally, circular adapically. Areoles incised and separated from those above and below except immediately adjacent to the peristome. Mamelons relatively small and platform wide.
  • Scrobicular tubercles differentiated; complete on ambital and adapical plates but confined to adradial and interradial margins adorally. Extrascrobicular zones narrow and only on adradial and interradial sides; tuberculation heterogeneous.
  • Ambulacra narrow and almost straight. Pore zones equal in width to the median tuberculate zone; not incised; pore-pairs conjugate with the two pores widely separated.
  • Perradial zone with enlarged primary tubercle on every third plate adorally and every other plate adapically; all elements reaching the perradius.
  • Peristome ca 50% test diameter; plating unknown.
  • Spines unknown; perignathic girdle not seen.
