Summary

I am interested in the ecology and systematics of soil and litter macrofauna, particularly termites, ants, earthworms and beetles. My research has mostly been in forest ecosystems, tropical and temperate, but I am becoming increasingly interested in drier habitats, particularly southern African savannahs. My work is on pattern and process, and is both descriptive and experimental. I am head of the Soil Biodiversity Group within the NHM.

Introduction
