Summary

Currently, my role as Senior Curator in Charge of General Herbarium involves the management, curation and development of NHM Seed Plants collections (the part that includes the Malvids and other miscellaneous orders). However, throughout my career, my expertise and experience in curation and collections care cover also Diatoms and Pteridophytes. In addition to these, my knowledge and skills also extend to identification (of Neotropical flowering plants and pteridophytes), conservation assessment (focused on habitat assessment) and plant inventories.

I am keen also in developing, enhancing and utilizing the natural history collections for arts, and improve education, as well as citizen science activities. Science Communication responsibilities included in the past a project under the V Factor Programme, which involved working with a team to deliver our science content to the public and working to increase the external visibility of our valuable world class Natural Collections (focused on Diatoms) and of our public educational role. My research work focus on diverse areas (e.g. systematic, taxonomy, and conservation as well as those related to collections and its history) through collaboration with a variety of partners in the tropics and supervision of students.
