Summary

I lead and manage the curatorial team for the non-vascular cryptogamic groups of Algae, Bryophytes and Lichens. These combined collections represent a major research resource of over 2 million specimens. I directly manage the non-diatom Algal Collections which, with 400,000 specimens, is one of the largest collections of its kind in the world and represents a diverse group of organisms including seaweeds, charophytes and cyanobacteria. My research interests are in the taxonomy, biodiversity and conservation of seaweeds, freshwater algae and bryophytes.
