In this fun, interactive session, children will learn all about the incredible work of fossil hunter Mary Anning.

Bring your children along to learn all about legendary fossil hunter Mary Anning and the incredible ancient reptiles she discovered on the Dorset coast. 

We’ll explore her amazing finds in this fun, interactive session that’s perfect for getting children excited about fossils.

Working in small groups, they’ll learn how marine reptiles became fossilised, what fossil hunting on the UK’s beaches is like and where the famous song She Sells Seashells On The Seashore comes from. They’ll then get to create their very own origami marine reptile fossil to take home.

What better place to hold the workshop than in the Library Room of our Anning Rooms, which were named in Mary’s honour. Plus, with all this fun sure to work up an appetite, it’s handy to be close to our Anning Rooms restaurant where you can grab something from our special kid’s menu.

    All children need to have an adult with them, however, we kindly ask that each family be accompanied by only one adult during the workshop for the best possible event experience.

    This event is just for our Members.

    Unfortunately, we can’t give refunds or exchanges.

    This event is best suited for ages 8-12, but all ages are welcome.

    We have several baby changing facilities and accessible toilets, and are fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. Find out more about access at our South Kensington site.
